Dundry Pre-school

Welcome to Dundry Pre-School

An Ofsted registered and inspected Pre-school based in the village of Dundry, South Bristol.

We are open Monday and Tuesday all day and Wednesday - Friday mornings. We also run 4 lunch clubs a week.

The Pre-school is based in Dundry Village Hall backing onto a fantastic field, with a children’s playground. We also have an enclosed garden the children can use throughout the session (weather dependant).

We take children from 2 years 6 months until they start school. As well as Children from Dundry Village, we take pupils from all around South Bristol, for example Whitchurch, Bishopsworth, Withywood, Headley Park, Highridge and Hartcliffe.

We have a high ratio of staff to children meaning not only can each child’s individual needs can be met but we can also develop close relationships with the children and their families.

The Pre-school has great links within the village to the local school, farm and church.

Latest News - Thursday 16th November 2017

Don't forget that tomorrow is Children In Need day, so children are able to wear something spotty for a (£1 min) donation. For fun with food, we will be making and decorating Pudsey bear faces from marzipan!

With the weather starting to become more wintry, for the next 2 weeks we are moving our topic onto hibernation. We will be talking about animals that hibernate and where they make their winter homes. We will also be making hedgehogs from modelling clay and using shredded newspapers to make their home. (Old newspaper donations gratefully received!)
In forest school we will be going on a bear hunt to see if we can find a bear cave outside or perhaps a hibernating bear!!  Our story times will of course be following the same theme.
Not forgetting the birds, the children will be also be making bird feeders.

Hedgehog bread and hibernating bear cupcakes are on the menu too for fun with food next week!

Next Tuesday (21st) we are having a teddy bears picnic!
Children are welcome to bring a teddy from home to share their day at Preschool. No doubt, there will be lots of bear themed songs and perhaps some porridge to try at snacktime?

It looks like most of you have now signed up for parents meetings, to chat about your child's progress with their key person, but we do have spaces left if you haven't yet booked a slot.

Lastly, just a reminder that invoice payments are due by Monday 20th November. Thank you to those that have already paid.

As we use the garden as much as we can and with Autumn fast approaching, please ensure your child has a raincoat and wellies each day that they attend so they are warm and dry when playing outside.

Forest School:
Forest School will continue to run on THURSDAYS this year. This is a great opportunity for the children to explore the field and find out about nature. Please could wellies be left at Pre School as we always use them on a Thursday. Coats and wellies should be brought into Pre School throughout the year to enable children to make the most of our surroundings regardless of the weather.
